We are committed to safely delivering reliable and resilient service so our customers can continue to build Norfolk Southern into their supply chains, taking advantage of rail’s sustainability. We are building a customer-centric, operations-driven service organization, collaborating with our customers, and competing on operational excellence.

I’m proud to be a Norfolk Southern railroader. I joined the company more than 29 years ago, and if you ask me what I appreciate the most about Norfolk Southern, the answer is simple: The people. We care about each other, our customers, our partners, the communities we serve, and the planet we call home. That’s who we are, in everything we do, and our decisions reflect our values.

Making It Right: 12-Month East Palestine Report

We’ve now spent a year in East Palestine living out our commitment to making it right, day in and day out. In the past six months, we’ve completed a significant portion of environmental remediation, and continue to ramp up community support to help the area thrive long term.

Norfolk Southern is fully committed to not only restoring the community, but also making it stronger. Every step of the way, we're listening and working closely with community leaders, residents, and businesses.

We will keep working as long as it takes for the East Palestine area to return to the kind of thriving community its people are proud to call home.
